It started when we was watching the 6 o'clock news, and James Spann was talking about bad weather. He said it was going to be the worst one any of us had ever seen. But i wasn't worried so i went to bed.
At about 5:30 a.m. my mom came to my room and woke me up. I thought she was waking me up for school so I laid back down. When she came back in there she said, "come on and get in my closet." So I did just to make her happy. When I finally got in there I grabbed my mom's cover off the bed and laid down in the closet and went back to sleep.
When I woke up the power was out and my mom said she didn't know if there was going to be any school. So we didn't go. We finally found out that none of Jasper had power and that we would be out of school for a while. I also heard that Tuscaloosa got hit harder than we did and that Argo was completely demolished. I knew that I had family that lived in Tuscaloosa and a good friend that lived in Argo.
It was hard being wihtout power for like the first two days. Because our food was ruining and we had to take cold showers. The church right down the street from us was cooking food so me and my lil sis went down there to see what they had. They was cooking hamburgers, hotdogs and alot of other meats. They had sodas and water. They even had dessert. So when we went back home we told our mom that they was cooking and giving it to people. So we went back down there with our food that was in the freezer thawing out and my baby sister and got some more. We kept going up there for a few days until the power came back on Saturday.
When the power got back on I didn't know because I was at the park playing in the only light we had, which was natural, and some of my friends was saying that Parrish and Oakman had there lights back on. So I started thinking to myself that ours should be on soon.
